The Sportsman Inn
Visit or stay at our glorious Sussex pub in Amberley
The Sportsman Inn
Opening Hours:
We are open every day 10am – 10pm for drinks and snacks
We are currently operating under an interim arrangement while we run a campaign to raise the money to convert the pub to a community business and ensure it stays open. We are running with a team of volunteers and at the moment we are serving drinks and snacks (crisps, nuts etc) but are unable to service a fully operational kitchen. We are offering food on Friday and Saturday evenings only, 6-8pm approx, either from the kitchen or with a street food vendor in the car park (which you are welcome to eat inside the pub). Watch this space for updates as things change.
If you’d like to know more about the campaign or pledge an investment, visit the Save Our Sportsman page.

Food at The Sportsman Inn
Please note that we are currently only able to offer food on Friday and Saturday evenings, approximately 6-8pm. Food either from the kitchen or speciality street vendors, to eat in the pub or take home. Please follow our Facebook page for updates.
Large bar selection
We have a selection of hand picked local and Cornish real ales to wet your whistle and non-alcoholic options for the designated drivers.
We have a constantly changing range of local ales on offer, including Harvey’s, Langham, Fire Bird, Fauna, Arundel, Downlands and Goldmark. Indulge in your favourite or try something new.
Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
The Sportsman has five guest bedrooms currently undergoing refurbishment, three double, two twin, each with en-suite showers and country furnishing and decor, offering comfortable accommodation and hearty English or continental style breakfast. Ideal for walkers and cyclists following the South Down Way, or holiday guests exploring the many delights of the Arun Valley and beyond.
Some of the rooms share the lovely outlook across the Wildbrooks while others glimpse the undulating backdrop of the South Downs hills.
